The Greenbrier Resort is one of America's oldest classic resorts. Situated in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the Greenbrier is a gorgeous, colorful wedding venue catering to sophisticated and fun-loving couples.
As a wedding photographer, when I arrive at the Greenbrier, my mind is just spinning with photo locations in tons of amazing spots. The main building is grand and classic, with gorgeous architecture and lawn details as far as the eye can see. With the rolling hills of West Virginia as a backdrop to the resort, it's cozy yet grand feel is perfect for outdoor wedding photos on the property. I love to photograph my wedding couples on the main entrance lawn, or down by the Greenbrier Chapel or the springs gazebo.
Inside of the Greenbrier Resort, it is filled with color and drama - thanks to Dorothy Draper who designed this resort in an eclectic and whimsical style. I particularly enjoy photographing my wedding couples in the Crystal Room and Colonial Room hallway, where the blue walls and flooring really bring an airy feel to images.
If my couples are looking for a bit of fun color and punch, then the Colonial Lounge with it's big bow-drapes are a really cool way to introduce more color and flair into their wedding photos.
If your wedding reception takes place in the Cameo Ballroom, we will definitely want some pictures in the reception space when it is set and ready to go (like this image!). The Cameo Ballroom is beautiful, and I adore it's big, beautiful chandelier and the ceilings made to look like an original cameo.
My hope is that the next time I return to photograph a wedding at the Greenbrier Resort, that I can venture to the outdoor garden (so far I've been rained out), and take more portraits in spaces such as the North Parlor, Colonial Terrace, and Crystal Room. I also think that the hallway outside of the Main Dining Room is really pretty, and maybe.... dare I say it... even near the indoor Mineral Spa pool!? Why not! It's all gorgeous!
The wedding ceremonies that I have photographed at the Greenbrier Resort were meant to take place on the North Entrance Lawn, but unfortunately were rained out and moved to the North Parlor. Both of these locations are gorgeous, but I really hope one day I can take pictures of a ceremony on the North Lawn. It's smaller than the main lawn and really has beautiful scenery and landscaping. It's so pretty!
In addition, I really hope to photograph a wedding ceremony at the Greenbrier Chapel. If you're getting married in the resort chapel, can we please be friends so that I can photograph your wedding ceremony in this gorgeous space?! It's just idyllic!
