Carolyn and Tyler were married on November 2nd, with a ceremony at the Heinz Memorial Chapel and a reception at the Carnegie Museum of Art.
They met online, through Bumble, and went out to a rooftop restaurant and bar in Mount Washington for their first date. They clicked from the word “go.” From there, Tyler kept track of all the “firsts” in their lives—from their first date to their first kiss and the first time he said he loved her. So when he had worked up the nerve to propose, he took Carolyn to all of those spots and then to a park where they could have some wine under the stars before he proposed.
Carolyn and Tyler’s Autumn Wedding
About four months before their wedding, Carolyn and Tyler found out they were moving to Denver! Thankfully, the two of them were able to juggle the twin stresses of moving and planning a wedding at the same time—largely thanks to some of the amazing vendors they had on hand! Carolyn also shared that by staying ahead of everything and finding the right vendors early made a world of difference.
Carolyn had been hoping to get some good fall foliage before she left Pittsburgh, because she loves the colors we get here! I’m so glad Pittsburgh pulled it off for her. I was worried, because it waited until the weekend to give me those fall colors, but everything worked out. It turned out that the colors were absolutely magnificent. With a November wedding, sometimes foliage is a little bit too late, but not for Carolyn. She and Tyler love the outdoors, so I was just so happy that autumn put on a show for their wedding day.
I was also able to get an iconic photo inside the Heinz Chapel where you can see the flashes and the entire chapel behind Carolyn and Tyler. I was married in this church, too, and I wish I had a photo like theirs!
After the ceremony, it was time to party at the reception at the Carnegie Museum of Art—and have some of the yummy cookies at the table! Tyler cracked us up making funny faces (even during the ceremony), and the bridal party was easygoing and hilarious to hang out with.
Thank you, Tyler & Carolyn, for asking me to be part of your beautiful wedding day! Thanks also to Alisa for being a rock star second shooter.
