Wedding: Sam + Steve

Sam and Steve were married on September 22^nd, with a ceremony and reception at Destiny Hill Farm.

Sam and Steve’s Destiny Hill Farm Wedding

Steve is from Pittsburgh, while Sam grew up in Michigan, where her dad taught her not to rely on anyone but herself. So when Sam told her dad that she’d found a guy to marry at Duquesne University, he knew that this guy had to be something special!

I had a blast with Sam and Steve on the hill doing bride and groom portraits. We just played around with the amazing Destiny Hill scenery as a backdrop, and it was nice to have some time with just us. The bridal party was also so much fun!

Sunset Wedding Photography

The best part of the day, though, was the BEAUTIFUL sunset that evening! The sunset totally shocked us, too, because the weather was overcast all day. So when the event coordinator asked me if I wanted to do “sunset photos” with Sam and Steve, I was like, “Um, no. I think we’re good. There’s no sunset.” And then, out of NOWHERE, the skies cleared up, and there was an AMAZING sunset for everyone to see through the barn doors. Even better? They left the barn doors open for the sunset during the father/daughter dance, and it was an incredible backdrop for the event.

I also want to give a shout-out to Nancy, who owns Destiny Hill Farm and did the florals for this wedding. I photographed her son’s wedding as well as her niece’s wedding. I love seeing her!
