Bree and Wesly were married on September 8th, with a ceremony and reception at the Fieldstone Barn at Armstrong Farms.
Since Wesly is from Texas, the two of them wanted to have a barn wedding as a nod to those roots. They poured themselves into this wedding, creating a tribute to their personalities as well as their love story. From the iron carvings of places they’d visited as their table numbers to the stationary designed by Bree herself, every detail was special to the bride and groom! Since she is a graphic designer and he is a mechanical engineer, they put their heads together to make a wedding that truly fit them, and that work really showed. Wesly put in just as much work as Bree did, and I loved seeing a groom get just as into it as his bride!
Bree and Wesly’s Fieldstone Barn Wedding
It was a rainy day at the Fieldstone Barn, but that actually made for some pretty amazing photos all the same. Bree and Wes were WONDERFUL and really went with whatever I asked of them! Not every bride and groom are willing to get out there in the rain, but these two were incredibly flexible.
But then, I’d known that photographing these two was going to be a breeze from the start. Just look at the picture I snapped of Bree as she walked down the staircase in front of the getting-ready cottage! As soon as she started walking, I knew that it would make for an awesome, moody photo.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to the barn for some fun at the reception. My favorite part had to be the dueling pianos they had as the reception music. It was SUPER fun!
Still, it was a little hard to photograph the reception, because the barn was so packed. But I love a challenge, and I walked away very happy with the way I covered the speeches and dances.
Wesly & Bree, thank you for being so willing to run with the weather and with my photographic suggestions. I know you’ll love the way those images turned out! Thanks also to my second shooter, Pamela, who is so great with candid moments and really brought a photojournalistic touch to this wedding.
