Christina and Peter were married on June 16th, with a ceremony at Our Lady of Angels Parish and a reception at the Doubletree Hotel in Greentree.
Christina and Peter’s Doubletree Greentree Wedding
It’s always a treat when I’m able to see old brides of mine, and for this wedding, I had not one but two former clients! I photographed Kellie’s wedding last year at the Doubletree as well, and I photographed Alexis’ wedding at the Heinz History Center. It was so fun to see them again. The day started out calmly. I was at the Doubletree with the girls as they got ready while my second shooter, Alisa, was with the guys.
It was so nice to hang out with these amazing ladies at the start of the day. I enjoyed chatting with everyone, but I also loved checking out the dresses and the lovely gifts Christina gave to her bridesmaids.
The ceremony itself was held at the Our Lady of Angels Parish in the Lawrenceville area of Pittsburgh, near where Christina and Peter grew up. That same attention to their roots and their family was obvious when Christina and her parents met up with Peter and his parents in the church. Everyone took turns hugging each other; it was a great way to show the two families joining as one to give the new couple their blessing.
Cork Factory Wedding Photography
After the ceremony, we were able to take some portraits near the Cork Factory, which resulted in some of my favorite images of the day. The light was pretty, and the scenery was unique. Of course, I’m also partial to the picture of Christina in front of the green vines. Even though she wasn’t sure about getting in there when I suggested it, she decided to go for it, and I’m so glad she did—the photos turned out great! Trust is so important with a wedding photographer and I’m so thankful she trusted me.
The best part, though, was when the bridal party had Wendy’s delivered to them while we were doing portraits. It was amazing and made perfect sense—after all, everyone is hungry at that time of the day! That truly made everyone much happier, and we were able to have a good time together photographing some more after that. They even shared with Alisa and me!
I also have to praise the detail work that went into their wedding décor. Peter loves to collect and sell classic cars, so they incorporate a bit of that into their design with the welcome “door” at the reception. I love personal touches like this! Christina and Peter are good friends with All in Good Taste Productions. They handled the floral arrangements and planning superbly.
Peter & Christina, thank you for letting me be part of your celebration. And thanks for sharing your Wendy’s burgers!
