Walled Garden at Mellon Park Wedding
Cassidy and Ian had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony at the Walled Garden at Mellon Park. I’ve been there a ton of times in the past for portrait sessions, but theirs was the first wedding ceremony in the garden that I photographed. I loved how the setup was done with the chairs facing the iron gates (I had assumed that they would face the fountain for some reason), and how Cassidy added some trellis roses to the gates for an extra wedding-related touch.
Wedding Ceremony in the Garden
The ceremony in the Walled Garden was perfect, with the wedding party entering through the opposite stone wall with iron gates, and all of the guests seated in perfect viewing-distance of the couple. Everyone had huge smiles on their faces as they read through specific bible verses and learned about the duties of being a wonderful husband and wife to each other.
Family Photos at Mellon Park
After the ceremony, Cassidy and Ian greeted some of their guests, and then we were in a little bit of a rush to squeeze in family photos. You see, as the wedding ceremony was taking place, big storm clouds were moving closer and closer to Mellon Park, and any minute it was going to rain! Luckily, we fit in the ceremony and the family photos before the downpour started. Just in time!
Our Rain Plan!
After the photos at Mellon Park, we drove over to the Convention Center, since it’s always a good rain plan! Sure, we would have loved to stick around the garden a bit longer for their wedding photos, but the Convention Center was the next best option, and close by their reception space at Lidia’s in the Strip District.
It was a pleasure photographing your wedding at Mellon Park, Cassidy and Ian – thank you for having me!
