Lauren and Sean were married on October 21st, with a ceremony at St. Boniface Church and a reception at the Omni William Penn Hotel in the grand ballroom.
A Stunning Wine, Cream and Gold Autumn Wedding
Lauren looked absolutely stunning when I arrived to capture her getting ready portraits. She looked like the subject of a painting, and I kept falling deeper in love with her portraits throughout the day, especially when she was in front of the hotel with the veil over her head. That one felt more like a fine art image than a photograph. Not to mention she looks a lot like Emma Stone, so we had to tease her that people would think they were witnessing a celebrity wedding!
Before the ceremony, Lauren received a wedding gift from the Louis Vuitton store: a new purse to take with her to Paris, where they would be honeymooning. What a perfect way to start out the day!
My second shooter, Loren, and I didn’t have much time to get portraits with Lauren and Sean. In fact, we actually ended up in the “wrong” spot—only to realize that we had accidentally stumbled upon the perfect spot their photos. There was a building nearby with big ivy walls, which worked seamlessly with Lauren’s Hayley Paige dress and long cathedral veil. Lauren’s bouquet by Cuttings was simply exquisite. I have to say, it was my favorite of the entire wedding season. So, despite the time crunch, our time for portraits was absolutely amazing.
We were also able to get portraits in the classic cars that Lauren’s father provided for the wedding. He’s a big collector, so it was an important personal touch to have them there, and they made for some amazing pictures. One of my favorite moments was when I was driving with Lauren and Sean as they shared a bottle of their favorite champagne, toasting together just the two of them.
Lauren’s dad was such a wonderful, emotional force during the day, too. It was obvious that he really was sad to let his little girl go from the way he had his arm around her neck the whole time he gave his speech.
Once Sean and Lauren were married, and the speeches had all been given, the Omni played host to an amazing dance party—though not before the two of them had taken a moment to themselves in the grand ballroom. They danced together just the two of them, taking that moment to be alone. It was the perfect romantic moment! The ballroom looked spectacular. Planning by A & L Events and the linens from Lendable Linens made the whole vision come together.
Sean & Lauren, thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I loved spending the day with you, and I’m so grateful that you were willing to run with it when we had to think on our feet for our portraits!
