Hidden Valley Wedding Photography
Katie and Kevin have been planning their wedding for a while, and they’re the kind of couple that you love to love! Always smiling, involved, organized, and simply happy to be together. They came together on their wedding day at Hidden Valley Resort in the mountains of western Pennsylvania, and it was an absolutely beautiful day!
Hidden Valley Resort Weddings
I had not photographed a wedding at Hidden Valley in the past, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. In fact, I really hadn’t been there since I was in high school and would go skiing at the resort! I have to say – it was absolutely gorgeous! Hidden Valley was quiet, because it’s the summer season. I’d be interested to see what a winter wedding would be like. Much busier I’m sure!
The grounds at Hidden Valley Resort were just beautiful for a wedding, with lots of flowers and greenery to take advantage of. The guys rented a cabin high on the mountain, and it’s lodge feel and wood details were perfect for the classic/rustic feel of their wedding day!
Katie’s details were really fun to photograph, because her whole wedding had a classic and rustic vibe to it – I loved using the outdoor elements mixed with classic styling.
Katie got into her wedding dress in a space that was a little dark with overhead lights, so we really took advantage of the wall of windows for some pretty, simple light to get into her dress.
What girl doesn’t cry when she gets Tiffany?
Wedding Ceremony Outside at Hidden Valley
Katie and Kevin were married outside at the Patio at Lake George, and I really loved the area where their wedding ceremony took place. The light there was beautiful! There were tons of plants all around including bright yellow day lilies and hanging pink flowers. The weather had a slight breeze, and so none of the guests were too hot! Again, since it was summer, Hidden Valley was pretty quiet, which allowed for a nice, intimate setting for Katie, Kevin, and all of their wedding guests.
After the wedding ceremony, we were able to take some beautiful family portraits in the same ceremony space (the light, again was gorgeous!) and also have some fun with their bridal party and the little kids in the wedding party.
Wedding Pictures at Hidden Valley Resort
After photos with the bridal party, we had some time to get pictures of just Katie and Kevin. They both have great smiles and are very much in love, so they made my job pretty easy! Katie had a nice, billowy wedding dress to play with, so I made sure to use it in the photos as well! There is Lake George at Hidden Valley that we used for a few photos, and also a nice walkway around the lake. The front and back of the Conference Center offered a variety of gorgeous spots – I only wish we had more time to use them all! 🙂
Hidden Valley Resort Lodge Reception
After their wedding ceremony at the Conference Center, guests headed over to the Lodge for the wedding reception in the Clock Tower area of the Lodge. The space was large enough for all of their guests, and Katie and Kevin decorated the space with whites and greenery, playing up on the rustic elements of the ski resort with wooden touches.
After some sweet speeches by their best of friends, guests enjoyed some of their delicious wedding cake and lots of wedding cookies! Katie and Kevin also choreographed their own wedding first dance to be a fun, playful, and also romantic performance, and it was really fun to watch! After some dancing and dinner, we went outside with their bridal party to pop champagne on the slopes and celebrate even more!
