Heinz Lofts and Mt. Washington Engagement Pictures
Meet Liz and Tariq!
These two will be married this August at Hotel Monaco, and I’m so excited to see what they have in store. When I met up with them for their engagement session, one of the first things Tariq asked me was “So, you’re the best in the ‘Burgh?” Wow! Something to live up to, for sure, but it sounds like they are putting together a dream team of wedding vendors for their big day, so it’s going to be amazing!
Liz and Tariq met while in college, and are tying the knot at last. When Liz asked me if the two kids could come along for a few photos, I had no problem with that! They were both incredibly well-behaved boys. A true pleasure to include in the engagement photos!
Engagement Photos by Heinz Lofts
We first started their engagement session right outside of Heinz Lofts, where there is a small parking lot next to the riverside trail. The trail itself has some great greenery, although you do have to look out for oncoming bikers and runners! From there, we walked just a bit down the trail to where there is a building with large windows. The thing I love about these windows is their reflection! They bounce the light off of the trail trees and rivers and are always different colors. Perfection!
Also around Heinz Lofts, there are the iconic red brick buildings and the “Heinz Lofts” sign, which we made sure to include. When Liz and Tariq were first dating, Tariq was living in one of the lofts, so the place held a special place in their heart!
We were able to walk around the grounds and eventually make our way up onto the Sixth Street Bridge for a bit before we headed out to Mt. Washington. The light was gorgeous in this area and Heinz Lofts made for the perfect starting location for their engagement photos.
Mt. Washington Overlook Engagement Pictures
After we photographed them a bit on the North Shore, we hopped in our cars and ventured up onto Mt. Washington (and.. ugh… it’s construction season!). We parked near Monterey Bay, where there is a great, non-fenced overlook of the city.
What is my favorite part about this location? There is a beautiful view of the city BUT if you spin in the other direction, there is an amazing river view of the Ohio River. This spot on Mt. Washington offer two amazing looks to the scenery, and it’s really picturesque, especially in the late evening hours with a pretty sunset.
We did have some additions to our crowd on Mt. Washington, as is the usual, with sight-seers, movie-makers, and photo-enthusiasts. The important thing to note about this area is that it’s everyone’s spot, and a lot of time I just have to work around the crowd and crop accordingly. Not to worry, though, because you’d never know that their Mt. Washington Engagement Photos have other people nearby – it looks like it was just the two of them!
