Omni William Penn Hotel Catering Showcase 2017
Every year I am thrilled to be a part of the Omni William Penn Hotel Catering Showcase. This event is where the best of the best in the Pittsburgh wedding industry come together to show off their rentals, floral, decor, photography, designs, and menus. Some of my absolute best friends in the wedding market attend the showcase, and it’s always a great time to see so many of them and celebrate a grand evening in the hotel. Weddings at the Omni William Penn hotel are some of my favorite to photograph, and I always love running into my brides and grooms for the coming wedding season as well! I saw quite a few familiar faces this year, as they were walking around the wedding venue and enjoying the fresh flowers, linens designs, and photography display.
Here are some of my favorite displays of the year, including who created them and why I love each design:
Mocha Rose Pittsburgh Wedding Florist:
This design was amazing and an absolute dream to photograph this setup! The things that I love the most about it? This “moon arch” was draped in all kinds of beautiful red and pink flowers, which fit perfectly with the coloring in the Omni Grand Ballroom. This would be the perfect set of wedding colors for an event in this space, because it truly seemed like everything just worked together in a lovely way – almost like it was “meant to be” there. April from Mocha Rose and her team always work hard to top themselves year after year, and I can appreciate a wedding vendor who works hard to create more and more trends in the industry space of the city.

The reason I love Megan from Fragile Paradise so much is that she knows how to marry simplicity and modern beauty into one fresh, easy look. She opted for a sweet, girly vibe with this look featuring beautiful gold linens by Lendable Linens and pink, airy flowers. The greenery is in season this year, and is sure to be popular at lots of the weddings I photograph throughout the season. She also used these fragrant, small pink flowers (Oh, I wish I knew the name of them!) in a centerpiece design that was simple, and smelled so good – a way to bring more of the senses into a wedding centerpiece design.
Allison McGeary Floral:
Allison always wows with crisp, elegant whites and orchids. I like to imagine that Allison’s own house is just covered in orchids, which honestly, what more do you need? This display was perfect for the classic bride, who would really want to use traditional wedding flowers (orchids and hydrangeas) in a modern, timeless way.The ribbons of escort cards were a nod to the current wedding trends, and mixed in with greenery for the display. There were white and gold linens, and lots of candles – another nod to the timelessness of her designs. My favorite part of her wedding floral design were the little glass bud vases, which contained a simple flower, greenery, and escort card – they were so adorable!
All Occasions Party Rental + Marbella + Mosaic Linens:
THIS. This is my style. If I were to have an entirely new wedding, you can bet your butt that these mirrored tables would be in my event space. I love everything about these photos – the black walls, the uplighting, the shiny elements, the modern elegance. Everything that they put together in the Omni William Penn Urban Room is just gorgeous. Oh, and did you check out the personal elements that All Occasions can put on just about anything – your bar, your plates, your dance floor? These details are worth pinning.
