Omni William Penn Hotel Wedding
Favorite Family Moment:
Christine and Ray are surrounded by big, loving families. When the family entrances were announced, there were tons of cheers from both sides of the Omni Grand Ballroom. Ray’s brother is currently deployed, so although he was unable to attend, he still delivered his best man speech. One of the other groomsmen read the speech, but everyone knew that it came from the heart of his brother. It was a sweet gesture in a time when I’m sure their family wishes they could have all been in the same room together.
Vibrant Wedding Style:
Christine and Ray’s wedding had a LOT of style, and a huge thanks to the ladies at Shayla Hawkins Events for their expert take on the final details. From the purple uplighting, to the amazing dessert bar with glittery chocolate-covered Oreos, to the laser cut custom gold name cards – everything was spot on. The Omni William Penn Hotel’s Grand Ballroom was the perfect backdrop for their colorful and classic wedding. The mix of vibrant color and traditional charm made for a gorgeous Pittsburgh wedding.
Our Favorite Wedding Photo:
Let’s keep in mind, first, that this is JULY. It was HOT. And so I love all of their outdoors portraits because we were hot and sweaty, but everyone looks so beautiful. That said, my favorite wedding photo from the day is Christine’s dad brushing a tear from her cheek before they left for the church. When he came into the room to hug her, he kept saying “This is a happy day! This is a happy day!” as she started to tear up on her dad’s tuxedo shoulder. As they broke their hug he looked at her, she smiled, and he wiped away her tear. Isn’t that, in the grand scheme of the world, what fathers are for?
