When I left for the evening from Megan and Bryan’s wedding, they were still beaming. In fact, I don’t think they stopped smiling at all throughout the course of the day, and I could tell that they were soaking in every minute of their day with friends and family. We were lucky to get a beautiful July day (it was hot, but not blistering hot), and Megan took advantage of the outdoor wedding atmosphere by going shoe-less all day. Smart bride!
We photographed their engagement session at Shady Elms Farm last fall, and it was nice to be back in the summer time when the flowers had bloomed and wedding season was once again in full-force. The team at Shady Elms is always so organized and sweet to work with – it’s a wedding venue in my back yard that I’m happy to photograph over and over again. Just gorgeous!
Megan + Bryan were married under the big elm tree, and they held a special tree ceremony that included dirt from both of their childhood homes. I absolutely loved the touch and inclusion of their family history into something that will now be a part of their lives together. Their family was an absolute pleasure, and Megan’s grandmother starting crying as she held her grand daughter in close for their portrait together.
Thank you, Megan + Bryan for having me along with you for the day! Congratulations!
(and a big thank you to Rachel Tokarski Wellock for being my super awesome second photographer for the day!)
