Ardie and Kyle have a story. With illustrations. Written and rhymed by her, named “A Life Full of Happiness and Joy”, to the tune of how they met at the gym. A copy of the story was placed on every table at their wedding. It was absolutely adorable. Complete with verses like ” A handsome guy had caught her eye” and “But this is not the end of the rhyme, It is the beginning of their lifetime”, their story is just as cute in writing as they are in person.
Ardie has a smile that’s infectious, and Kyle’s got a grin that hints at the fact that he’s gotta be really chill and just taking things in. They’re the perfect compliment to each other, and their wedding day was nothing less than fun and exciting. They were married at St. Stanislaus in the Strip District of Pittsburgh, and their wedding reception was held on the first floor of the Heinz History Center (such a cool place!)
Ardie’s dress fit her amazingly! She bought it in New York, and it was bagged up there and finally revealed on the wedding day. We joked (afterwards) about what chaos it might have been had she brought back the wrong dress. Luckily, that wasn’t the case!
They had a first look in the Heinz History Center – I think she was pretty excited!
Now that is one good looking couple!
Some people touring the HHC were pretty surprised to come across a bride and groom!
I could shoot in here all day – the venue is just so cosmopolitan and unique.
There’s also an outdoor upstairs patio, where we were able to shoot their bridal party photos in a bit of natural light with the city backdrop.
The one on the left reminds me of a traditional, vintage portrait. The one on the right reminds me of how happy they are together.
We also had some fun shooting inside of the trolley. Ok! Enough of their portraits.. let’s get on to the ceremony at St. Stanislaus!
As if they couldn’t pick a better reception location, the church where they were married was pretty gorgeous too. I liked shooting through the flags to add some interest to the traditional church shot.
Ceremony peeks.
The reception immediately followed the ceremony (since they had done a first look this was no problem!), and I’m pretty sure Ardie approves of the cake.
Parent dances. Ardie is named after her father, and I think they’re pretty alike – singing aloud and all! And Kyle’s mom was just so incredibly happy for her son. I really love it when there are twinkle lights (if you can tell from their sneak peek), and I enjoy playing with them to add something unique to a photo.
Ardie and Kyle also have a HUGE group of awesome friends (that comes with being awesome people), and they were all pretty excited to load into the trolley for an end-of-the-night shot!
Wow! LOVE the one on the stairs with all the neon lights and the shot in the trolley. Great venue and gorgeous photos 🙂
Great set! That city shot and the last B&W are epic.
