I have to admit, when I read an email from Kate containing all of their wedding day details, I was absolutely cracking up! They may both be lawyers, but one of the traits that drew them to each other was their hysterical sense of humor when with each other. Kate and Adam grew up only 12 miles apart here in Pittsburgh, but didn’t meet until they both attended law school in Boston – one of their favorite cities next to New York City.
Their life together so far has been one of misadventures, bar exams, and attempting to be “foodies” where ever they travel. Their wedding was inspired by the preppy Kate Spade, but the two of them also wanted an amazing party as they introduced all of their friends to the great city of Pittsburgh.
It was so fun to be there with them with my good friend Dana Scheller, to experience their Phipps Conservatory with a lot of style and chic touches. Kate has a slightly unhealthy obsession with paper and calligraphy:

Adorable hanger found on Etsy! Kate’s dress was handmade by her mother from French lace.
The beautiful rings
When I went down to visit Adam and the guys, they were almost ready (guys get ready in like 3 minutes..) and were drinking this Sam Adams beer. 20%. Adam offered me a taste. I politely declined. Don’t want the wedding photographer to pass out before the ceremony starts.
Kate as she was getting a little help with her dress.
The first look happy dance! 🙂
Kate’s eyes really DO look like this.
Sun halo and apples.
Kate did this on her own and it cracked me up! I love this photo!
Since they did a first look, we were able to have some time to take most of their photos around Phipps before the guests arrived.
Lovely.
Adam as he watched Kate coming down the aisle. See! That never loses it’s magic.
So here’s the story: About 10 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to start some serious thunderstorm clouds rolled in over top of Phipps. We were pretty scared that we would have to rearrange everything right before it was scheduled to start. Sumer did a great job keeping everyone organized, and Kate stated that she would rather wait a few more minutes for the storms to potentially pass than do the ceremony under the tent. Well, we lucked out. I think this is her little “hallelujah”
A cute little look right after their first kiss:
Some of the awesome wedding details.
These little boys were SO cute!
I joked with Kate that she “looked so serious” during the marriage certificate signing. Her response? “Leeann. This is serious business. We’re lawyers”. Touche! 🙂

This crowd was crrrrawwwlliinnngg onto the dance floor. They were dying to get out there and party hard. And that – they did.

And last but certainly not least – a little cookie thief caught red-handed! 😉
