Hometown Engagement: Emily + Jason

university of pittsburgh engagement

They both went to Pitt Law School, but Jason still maintains his loyalty to Maryland – his undergrad alma mater. They’re both low-key, and love taking in a basketball game or spending a relaxing day on the couch with their cat, Larry Fitzgerald (how awesome is that?)

Jason still practices law, but Emily is branching out into blogging and providing support for those who suffer from severe migranes – a field that she’s passionate about.

I love that these two carry so much passion in their relationship – for sports, for careers, and for each other. I’m thrilled that I will be there to celebrate with them on their wedding day this coming July at The Renaissance!

The Hometown Bride: Bridal Bouquets of 2012!

Flowers add so much to a wedding day, and truly bring indoors some of the outside beauty. The bridal bouquet is typically the highlight of the flowers on the wedding day, and here are some of my favorite bridal bouquet photos from this year!

New for you! Digital Downloading of Images!

When’s the last time you went to the electronics store to buy a computer program?

How many of you use your phone for car music instead of DVDs?

Don’t you just love being able to download your files right from online, and also upload them just as quickly to create your invitations, cards, thank you’s, etc?

And now, new for you – digital downloads of your images! I’ve been working on this for the past few months, and I truly believe it’s the new direction of digital file delivery. I always want to be ahead of the curve, and also strive to be efficient and well-organized for my clients. If you haven’t seen lately, Apple announced and entire new line of computers without any DVD drives in them! The times for DVDs in computers is coming to a close, and I want to ensure that you’re able to access your files as easily as possible in the years to come.

Some common questions:

Q: How will I download my files?

A: You will receive an email invitation to download your images. You simply need to (at this time, although I believe a new rollout is in the near future) download a quick and easy application to your computer and you can download all of the images there.

Q: What is the program that I need to download?

A: You won’t need it until you receive the notification email, but the program is called PASS Gallery. It allows you to view, organize, favorite, share on Facebook, and download your images. On top of that, you can choose to download the full gallery, or only download your favorites.

Q: How long are the images available?

A: Your images are available online for you for one year. After that, you can choose to extend the online gallery for a total of 5 years for $150.

Q: Should I back up the images?

A: Yes, regardless of how you receive your digital files for your wedding, you should always make a double (or triple!) backup of your images. This can be with Dropbox, USB Thumb Drive, External Backup drive, or elsewhere.

Q: Is this easy? This sounds harder than just getting the DVD in the mail

A: It’s easier! Seriously. Download the PASS Gallery application and hit the “Save” button to save all of the images to your desktop. That’s it! You can have them almost immediately!

Q: Why not a USB thumb drive of images?

A: I love the “cloud” for images – you can access them from anywhere! Oh! I must have forgot to mention, you can download the “ShowIt PASS” app on your iPhone or iPad and view the images from anywhere. The interface is beautiful, and it’s super easy to share your images to all of your friends and family. If you don’t have an Apple device – not to worry! You can view the gallery online as well.

Q: When is this effective?

A: I’ll be sharing images with my clients via digital download immediately. If you have any issues just let me know!

PS- More about a new program for you to easily create Save The Dates, Thank You’s, and Invitations via TinyPrints + Wedding Paper Divas…. coming soon!

The Cosmopolitan Bride: Shoes of the Year!

Oh how I love wedding shoes. My brides pick the best styles in shoes. For some, it’s a perfect pair of Jimmy Choo sparkle flats. For others, it’s that beautiful pink Badgley Mischka’s. Regardless of their style, I always make sure to get a photo of the shoes! With a long dress covering them, a girl’s best fashion friend can go unseen for most of the special day.

As the wedding year comes to a close, let’s see some of my favorites from Pittsburgh’s finest brides:
