Air Force | Military Engagement Session | Maggie & Tim!

Can it get any cooler than an engagement session with planes? If you said “Yes!”, then I challenge you to get in touch with me and prove me wrong! Seriously.

Maggie and Tim are engaged to be married and met at the Air Force Reserve base out in Moon Township. They will be married in just two weeks at the beach, but wanted some engagement pictures to capture a little bit of their life and love. We set out on what proved to be one of the hottest days of the summer and spent some time on the military base with these giant airplanes. Tim actually works on the planes in a crazy location in the back of the planes. They actually let me climb up inside with them, and I was truly amazed at what they do. It’s not every day that I get to go inside of military planes to shoot, so I was in awe! We had such a great time despite the heat and ended the engagement session on the nearby Montour Trail. Here are a lot of my favorites!

Downtown Pittsburgh Engagement Photos | Katrina & Bryan

I’m pretty much in love with this session. Yup. I am. In love with it.

Katrina and Bryan contacted me via Shayla Hawkins of SHE for their engagement session. They’ll be married next April in Richmond, but live in Pittsburgh. We decided to interrupt all the ruckus downtown to shoot our engagement session, and started at the top of Bryan’s building. I mean hello, check out the views!

I love shooting with ivy walls.

North Park Engagement Session | Amy & Randy

I love Amy and Randy’s J Crew style. They are like the All-American couple and it is really refreshing. We spent some time this past Sunday at North Park, where Amy said she’s always loved the Boat House. However, when we got there we quickly learned that the beautiful lake around the boat house was a muddy mess! Ick! Not sure what happened there, but dreams of beautiful reflections were quickly thrown aside.

Needless to say, it was no biggie, because we were able to use the other areas around the Boat House and I love their engagement session. Light. Fresh. Clean. And totally romantic.

They brought along their “honeymoon hats”.

Seriously, could you get any more classic?

Southside Works Engagement Pictures | Jaci & Matt!

Jaci and Matt love The Office. So much so, that they were engaged in Scranton, PA. Personally, I think that’s pretty awesome!

We spent time together this past Sunday at the Southside Works in Pittsburgh for their engagement session. We had fun walking all around the area, but I think the group favorite location was the field we ended up in, which was right beside Hofbrahaus! No kidding! I am absolutely in love with the light in these images, and I hope you love them as well! Congrats, Jaci & Matt!

South Park Engagement | Michelle & John!

To John, 10-12 hours in the office isn’t so bad. Vacations are climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Learning golf is going to be a breeze.

Michelle and John will be married this September at the Quicksilver Golf Club, and I was so glad to be able to spend some time with them last week getting to know them just a little bit more. We talked about work hours and the time John puts in at the office. We talked about Michelle’s golf instructor – this handsome guy that she also happens to be engaged to. We talked about their trip to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. But the best thing is, what we didn’t really talk about came through in their engagement photos anyway. Their love, ability to laugh, and true friendship between the two of them. Here are some of my favorite photos from their engagement session, taken around the South Park gazebo and lake areas:

This one feels so calm and relaxed.

John got to be really good at the dip!

I think this was after I asked John what kind of flower Michelle would be. What’d he say? Sunflower? I can’t remember now.. taking pictures!

They brought along one of Michelle’s golf clubs. That’s right. “Big Bertha”. Sounds intimidating!

I asked them to stand by this brush a couple of times, and the first time they might have thought I was crazy. Hopefully no poison ivy is abounding in the Michelle & John residence…!

Tonight Michelle, John, and I shot their engagement session in South Park – we beat the rain! Woo hoo! Here’s a sneak peak from their session – I like this one because I kept telling Michelle that she was good at “the look”! She was!

Oakland & North Shore Engagement Photos | Chrissy & Anthony!

I love it when I get to meet back up with people that I’ve worked with, studied with, grew up with, etc. to take photos! Such is the case with Chrissy and Anthony. Chrissy and I actually graduated in the same class from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Engineering with our Industrial Engineering Bachelor’s Degrees. Wow. That was a mouthful. Here we are at graduation:

And now, almost 4 years later, I was able to meet up with her and her fiance, Anthony, to venture back to Oakland for their engagement session. They met at Pitt, and Anthony even proposed at Heinz Chapel, so it was a location full of fond memories. Here are a few of my favorites from their session:

I love the way that Chrissy is looking upwards and so happy here.

And we also went over to the North Shore, where the March of Dimes had drawn a large crowd. Luckily folks, for the most part, stayed out of our pictures.
