Off-Camera Flash: A new experience

Last night I decided to play with off-camera flash. I just ordered my setup with light stand and Pocket Wizards and I’m loving it already. Of course, the master himself, Zack Arias is teaching me from my living room all of the technique and I am amped to start taking my photos to the next level. Check it out. This one here was shot at 1/20 sec f/3.5 ISO100 using my SB800 in a shoot through umbrella for the nice rounded glow effect around Brad. My only bummer here was that the moon didn’t stay out from behind those clouds!!

This was shot at 1/250 sec, f/4.5 ISO200. I purposefully amped up the shutter speed to kill the lights form our house in the background. Amazing. This off-camera technique that I’m learning REALLY. WORKS. Who would have thought? Love it! I’m so excited to play some more!DSC_3586

Seriously, these shots have pretty much no post production except for some mild whitebalancing and I like to amp up the vibrance. That’s awesome. YAY!

If you’d ever like to model for me, let me know! I’m looking to play around with this some more.
