As I pulled into Starbucks that morning, I was greeted with a hot triple-grande, skinny vanilla latte, and the always-happy drive thru lady leaning out the window, looking toward the sky, and stating “Oh, looks like it’s going to rain soon!”. ::slouch:: Not really what I wanted to hear. After all, I was on my way to Krista and Patrick’s engagement session, and they were coming in to Pittsburgh from California to shoot!
As I drove into Mellon Park, the weather seemed to be holding off, and I was greeted by two incredibly nice, well-dressed fiance’s. Krista and Patrick currently live in Sand Francisco, but both of them are from the Pittsburgh area, and really love celebrating their hometown. They traveled back to the city for their engagement photos, and were recently engaged in June. They spend their time together adventuring through new cities, and nursing in hospitals across the country.
They haven’t quite yet set a date for their wedding next year, but, it too will be in Pittsburgh, and I’m praying for…. no rain![]()

Adorable. Patrick is crazy about his girl.
Oh and I suppose she’s crazy about him too!![]()

Once it started to rain we headed to some covered areas to shoot.
Pittsburgh proud.
Romantic.
When I asked how they felt about ending their session in the rain, they were all for it. And, as one of my Instagram followers puts it: “Kissing in the rain… isn’t that every girl’s romantic fantasy?” Absolutely. Congratulations!
