Photographers: Do you stand out in the crowd?

I am a wedding photographer. A couple of years ago, I made the decision to enter into the wedding photography world, and joined the groups of the thousands of other wedding photographers in the area. Truth be told, it’s a really tough market to work in, with ready availability of professional-grade camera equipment, and the notion that the camera makes the photographer, not the skill and eye. There was even a time when my work would be compared to dozens of others in the areas, and the photographer with the best price got the job. It was a contract-winning world, and a quick way to unhappiness.

Then I found Team-X, and my business changed.

All for the better.

And my business truly makes me happy. It’s my world, my life, and exactly me. I wouldn’t have it any other way. The clients that I work with are truly a joy, and my brides are exactly the brides that I want to work with. I made the conscious decision to declare who I am to the world – the Big City Photographer for the Hometown Bride. I work with girls who believe that even if you’re from the most po-dunk town in SWPA or WV you can still have really nice things. Girls that move out of the area to pursue bigger dreams, but who come back to Pittsburgh to get married and be surrounded by the area that in their hearts will always be home. My brides are shoppers, lovers, adventurers, and homebodies. They’re me. It’s a great world to be a part of.

Team-X is a small, select group of photographers across the US, Canada, and abroad who stand for themselves. They believe in the idea that you can create a business that makes you happy. That there’s more than just nailing the next job. That who they are truly makes them YOUnique, and that there are perfect clients for them out there.

The process of working through this adventure has been challenging. It’s not easy, and it’s a struggle to get to know who you really are deep down. I’ve worked with Jeff Jochum over the past year, and he’s like a father to me. He guides me through business decisions and, even though I love to argue with him at times, he’s still incredibly awesome. I believe in his work whole-heartedly.

AND NOW HERE IS THE FUN PART: Team-X is expanding it’s reach – with Group Coaching. And I’m thrilled to be coaching photographers through the process. These new group coaching teams will work with their photographers over the course of 6 months to move through the 4-D’s of the positioning process: Discover, Define, Declare, Deliver.

If you’d like more information on the entire process, check out the Team-X website HERE.

And now – the wonderful coaches I get to call my colleagues and friends: (me), Steph O, Christine Tremoulet, Jennifer Chaney, and Jane Ammon. Each absolutely amazing in their own way. We all have limited availability in our small groups, set to start within the next couple of months. If you’re interested or would like to learn more, please don’t hesitate to contact any of us – we are happy to answer questions!
