I’m standing in a room full of crisp white chairs. Electric guitars are housed on colorfully-lit cases next to me, and I am so very thankful for the bottle of Fiji water left at the presenter’s stand. I look down to make sure my dress isn’t tucked into my underwear or something else potentially super embarrassing before the attendees start to walk into the room and claim their seats. Some sit way in the front, others in the last row. Familiar faces, and some that I’m meeting just today. I check again on the underwear thing, and hope that my microphone doesn’t go crazy when I turn it on…
It’s a big day for me. A start of a dream that I have. I’m presenting at Pictage PartnerCon, and have put lots of hours into a presentation that I have no idea whether it will be loved or hated. I decide that if too many people get up to leave, I’ll just start playing music and instigate a dance party – well, or cry.
As I’m introduced my nerves are going crazy, but as I ascend the stairs to the speaking platform I see a sea of faces full of excitement, eagerness, and warmth. And I start…

I tend to be quite passionate about things. I’m passionate about being yourself. About love. About success. About finding who you are and bringing that to the forefront. And in order to do that, I’m passionate about eliminating the things that hold us back.
So much holds us back every day. Emails. Editing. Worrying. It’s these things that lead us to be stifled in our own success. I have barriers that I work to break through every day as well. I’m the far from perfect, and need supporters who also cheer me along. And that’s why I love to be a supporter to cheer others along. To give concrete ideas. To help get rid of the junk, so that they can reach their fullest potential.

Speaking at PartnerCon allowed me just a taste of this desire. I was asked lots of questions after the session, and each and every photographer I talked to, I wanted to spend an entire day with them talking about where they are and where they want to be. What’s holding them back? How can we work to make things better? What systems need a’-changin? What is eating their time and just holding them back from those “Is my underwear showing?” opportunities?
