Lauryn had me from the moment she mentioned “pockets and bows” for her wedding dress. And she delivered. Actually, I’d say she over-delivered.
Lauryn and Corey were married on a cold November day, when Pittsburgh began to remind us that winter is setting in and we would crave the indoors. Their wedding was held at the always beautiful Heinz Chapel, and Lauryn was simply breathtaking in her pockets and bows. Her girls were decked out in beautiful blue bridesmaid dresses with bright blue-green accents, and their teal shawls were perfect to protect in some way from the brisk cold.
After their wedding ceremony, we were initially scheduled to shoot their portraits at Mellon Park, but the weather was just not agreeing and instead we found a beautiful indoor location drenched in that white winter light. Lauryn and Corey work so well together, and although Corey is a bit more quiet, you can certainly tell that he just adores Lauryn. Their reception was at Peter’s Place in Heidelberg, where family and friends gathered for great speeches and lots of dancing. Here are my favorites photos from their wedding day:
Our wonderful groom, Corey. Also, this little guy who was just too cute for words!
I always love to photograph the bride’s entrance into Heinz Chapel. It’s so beautiful in there that it really adds to the drama of the father walking his baby girl down the aisle.
Heinz Chapel – always will hold a special place in my heart.
It was so wonderful to be Lauryn and Corey’s wedding photographer, because they were both so good in front of the camera.
Oh baby, it was cold outside, but the chilly wind added a little extra something to this veil photo.
I had to add this picture in, because the color combination was so vivid against the winter setting. I really liked it!
Hmm perhaps my favorite bridal party portrait all year. I love the colors, the art, the line – everything.
My goodness Lauryn was a stunning bride.
A wedding photographer’s dream.
The more I photograph, the more I realize that architecture plays a big role in my work. I love the use of lines, framing, arches, art. (Side note – Lauryn was so beautiful, and she’s the prime example why brides should think twice before hitting a tanning bed prior to their wedding day. Her skin is just milky and a.b.s.o.l.u.t.e.l.y gorgeous)
There were some great speeches during their reception. This was after Lauryn’s dad spoke, and he said that he would now call Corey by his real name and he was welcome into the family.
Her mom said a few words as well.
During their first dance, Corey and Lauryn were in their own world dancing and singing to each other. It was so cute.
This little flower girl was so excited to catch the bouquet – and she did! Obviously she couldn’t keep it for what came next, so she gave it to her mom. Who was not as excited.
Corey got a good garter toss in there too!
