My clients rock!

Their wedding isn’t even until August, but Shannon and Matt surprised me with a cute little gift. Oh my, my clients rock! Thank you SO MUCH!

And while we’re at it, can we please take a minute to note their incredibly adorable Reception Information part of their invitation? It’s a Pirates ticket, since their wedding is at PNC Park! How cute is that?!

Grand Hall at the Priory Wedding | Joanna & Jim

Joanna and Jim were married on July 4th at the Grand Hall at the Priory, and Joanna’s dress had pockets. In my book, that is all sorts of amazing, and I was so glad to be a part of their wedding day! We had a great time, and Joanna was truly a photographer’s dream, with gorgeous red hair and a complexion to die for! The weather was hot, but tucked between the Grand Hall and the hotel is a little courtyard where the standing room only ceremony was held. The shade kept us all fairly cool, and it was a perfect outdoor ceremony under the canopy. The evening was spent dancing the night away with entertainment by the wonderful Tim and Janet of Upbeat Entertainment.

Congrats to you both, and I wish you both the very best! Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at the Priory is an absolutely beautiful and majestic location for a wedding ceremony in reception.

This wedding was held with the ceremony and reception at the Grand Hall at the Priory.

Joanna was such an easy-going bride. I love that.

Leeann Marie Photography was their wedding photographer.

Some killer blues, and checking in on all of the people gathering in the garden.

I love this shot – it’s very ethereal.

An absolute favorite.

The hall is on the North Side.

Love a little flare.

The wedding colors were ivory and green.

Wedding details I love

Almost every week I try to post the details from the weddings I photograph. I l-o-v-e details, and enjoy seeing what each bride does for her wedding day. Although I love just about every beautiful, fun, and creative detail, I’m always particularly drawn to a few select things.

Example A: Shoes. Always shoes.

Example B: Flowers. Yes, they die, but if you have them done well, they’re an absolutely gorgeous addition to your day!

Example C: Veils. Wrap them over you, around you, up in the air, down over your shoulders, just peeking your eyes through, love, love love. You never get to wear one again, unless it’s Halloween!

Example D: The dresses. I love seeing all of the different wedding dresses and seeing how they each perfectly fit with each bride’s personality!

What’s your favorite wedding detail?

Happy 2 year anniversary – to us!

Brad and I were married on July 26th, 2008. It was a beautiful day – sunny and wonderful. I loved every single minute, but I’ve loved every single minute after that day even more. Between a honeymoon, buying a new home, selling an old one, becoming an aunt and uncle, crying, and laughing a lot in between, we have become better people and more in love each day. He truly is my best friend and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Best. Decision. Ever. To celebrate, here are some of my favorites from our wedding and this past year:
